MEETAC has organised 15 days “Design Development Workshop for Lifestyle Products of Utility” from 16/11/2021 to 30/11/2021 of 5 (Five) Crafts namely

  • Clay Pottery –Nungbi pottery & Andro pottery,
  • Stone Carving,
  • Kauna Grass,
  • Textiles – Moirang phee, Rani phee, Lashing phee
  • Bamboo & Cane

at 7 (Seven) venues namely  Andro khunou leikai, Kongba nandeibam leikai & Toupokpi, Khangabok, Kongba nongthombam leikai and Sawombung Forest CFC.

The Inaugural and Closing Ceremony was graced by Shri Th. Biswajit Singh, Hon’ble Minister (Textiles, Commerce & Industries) and Chairman, MEETAC on 16th November, 2021 & 1st December, 2021 respectively. During the workshop, 90 traditional Artisans/Craftsmen out of which 37 were men and 53 were women have been participated and 143 Prototypes have been developed. As a part of providing support to the Artisans/Craftsmen trained under MEETAC, Hon’ble Minister (Textiles, Commerce & Industries) cum Chairman of MEETAC has provided Seed Money of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand) only to 50 selected artisans through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
